Work from home, how to achieve this dream

Working from home is a dream of many but only few people will work hard to achieve this dream, I mean how cool is the idea of not waking up so early in the morning and getting ready to go to work and face a boss who probably had a bad night and wants to take their frustrations on you. What if you could just work in your pajamas? what if you could be your own boss?

There is an article I was reading just recently about a guy who set out to work hard on one day quitting his job and becoming his own boss, the only problem with this man is that he did not have much time, the only time he had was his lunch break which was very short time but he vowed to give those minutes to his online business.

So when the other guys were on social midea or taking a nap, this man was working hard on his website and you know what? after hard work and dedication, he was able to quit his job and work full time on his online business.

My point is this, the way to achieve your dream to work from home is to dedicate a certain amount of time every day to work toward your dream, it does’t matter that maybe you only have 30 minutes to spear if you use those 30 minutes every day, you will be amazed at how much you will be able to accomplish. Make a decision and stick to it you will achieve your dreams.

How I came up with the idea for this very website

When I was thinking of starting this website, I was going through an Affiliate training that is very vigorous and very brutal, its called bootcamp affiliate marketing training, in this training, failure is not an option, so I needed something solid to motivate me and it came in a form of memory.

It was early in the morning about 8 years ago, the alarm clock rang and I pressed the snooze button, and then I slept through the alarm, and when I woke up I was so late for work, so I jumped out of bed like there was something dangerous on the bed, and then I got ready in record time, of course, I was knocking everything over in the house because I was in a big rush.

Isn’t funny how suddenly the trash can is in your way when you are in a hurry? I swear it’s like everything is making fun of your misery, you are knocking your leg on things that you never even noticed were there before. So anyway, despite the house looking like a war zone, I mean clothes everywhere, shoes, trash can knocked over, you get the picture right? 🙂 I opened the door and guess what? it was raining yup and I had to get to the bus stop and of course, I had no umbrella.

I know now you are thinking, OK what else could possibly go wrong at this point? the bus, yeah, you guessed right, it was late. So anyway, to cut the story short as I was sitting in that bus soaked wet, cold and feeling terrible, I thought to myself, won’t it be nice if I could just work at home in my pajamas? no rain no bus, no boss, to me that sounded heavenly.

And so when I was told in the training that I have to choose a domain name and it has to be something that means something to me, I thought of Let’s work in PJs by the way you can click here to find out more about this training and the program.

But must I have a website to be able to work from home?

Well I know that people are making big money on YouTube and Instagram, especially if you can manage to gather a big following, but in order for you to have your own online business you need a good foundation and that is your website, however you decide to run your business whether is by Affiliate marketing or selling your own things online, you do need a website, yeah I know people who are running business without websites by using YouTube or other platforms but I can assure you that the best way is to own your own website.

Because creating content and publishing it on someone else s website means you really don’t have full control of your own stuff, yeah you can create YouTube videos but have a website so you can direct your subscribers to your website and grow your business that way. Use YouTube and social media to promote and grow your business that way, you know for a fact that no one is gonna wake up one day and decide to pull your content down

I was watching a YouTuber the other day You know how YouTube randomly recommends videos to you, that’s how I came across that video of a lady that had over a million followers and suddenly something happened or I guess she broke YouTube rules and her videos were pulled off YouTube and she lost her followers and now she was posting a video on a new channel, to explain and try to get her followers back.

There is a YouTuber who lost  one million subscribers channel just like that

By the time I was watching the video, she had managed to get 100k of her followers back and I am guessing those might be the ones who were following her on her other social media accounts. Myself, I am not the kind of person who follows someone on all their social media, I do have few people that I follow on YouTube mainly channels that are about making money online and affiliate marketing.

If I follow you on YouTube, then I will just wait for you to post your great content every week or whenever you do it I will get notified and I will come to your channel and watch and that’s it, so in the case of this YouTuber that I am talking about, it could be that the majority of her followers were like me, so when that Channel disappeared, that was that and maybe they moved on to find another content creator.

Where I am I going with all this? I am trying to show you the importance of being in control of your own online business, having your own website is a great thing.

So how long will it take for me to be able to earn a living from my business?

OK, I will ask you a question, if you start a shop today, Let’s say you are selling furniture, how long will it take for that business to be able to provide an income for you and your family? I can answer that question for you because I have experience with business, I have run a beauty shop for many years and I can assure you that when I started my beauty business.

I had done a business course where we were taught that no matter how successful your business turns out, you must give it at least 6 months to a year of which even if the business makes money during this time which is called the grace period, you do not take any money from that business, no matter how much money it makes, you must put all that money back into the business, which means you increase inventory, hire more people if you need to, but you do not spend the money on other things.

This means, if you start a website today, and it starts making money Let’s say after 3 months, you should not quit your day job just yet, keep working hard on your website, invest in it, and keep growing it until you see it making stable and enough income for you to be able to comfortably quit your day job.

So what I am trying to tell you is that online business just like any other business you must work very hard, sometimes very long hours, and you must give it time to grow, someone recently very wisely compared online business to a chicken, when its young it does not lay eggs but after nurturing and feeding for a period of time, eggs start to come.

Conclusion

Yes, its possible to start and run a successful online business and be able to work from home, but you have to be patient, dedicated and a hard worker, there will be a lot of research that needs to be done so you can come up with good quality content, if you want to enter the affiliate marketing there will be a lot to study and also there will be lots and I mean lots of words to be written.

And many products to be reviewed and promoted, so as much as you will be working in your pajamas and from home, you still have to work, it’s just that in this case you are in control and you call the shots. You do however need to be disciplined and to set up your time in a way that you will get your tasks done on time.

For example, as I am writing this, it’s past my bedtime but because something interrupted my routine during the day, and it was my task to do this today, I must finish it because I do not want it to interfere with my tomorrow’s tasks.
