Today I would like to share a few online business tips, in this article I will also share a few words of encouragement, Because I am not going to lie to you, when you first start your online business, you will feel like throwing in the towel, I mean it’s not fun when you work so many long hours researching and creating content and not see the results you were expecting to see after that kind of hard work.

Perseverance and determination will pay in time

But I am here to tell you that if you hold on and keep pushing on even when you don’t feel like pushing on, in time you will start seeing results Do not quit no matter what one of the biggest mistakes that people make in online business is quitting too early, you have people who start a website, put out great content, and then a couple of months later, they give up and abandon their website, please don’t be one of these people.

I have to admit that with my first website I came very close to quitting and just abandon that website, I had over 40 articles and I was not seeing any progress as far as traffic was concerned and as we all know traffic equals sales and commissions in online business especially when you are in Affiliate Marketing, so when you don’t see organic clicks on your websites, you really start questioning everything you are doing.

I am lucky enough to be a member of the biggest Affiliate Marketing community on the web and when I asked the community whether I should just abandon my website and start a new one, I was heavily advised against that and so I pushed on, and I am glad I did because when my website hit the 6-month mark, Google started being kind to me and the traffic doors started opening and I started seeing the number of clicks rising.

Do not do Niche hopping

Niche hopping is what I wanted to do with my first website, I wanted to abandon that particular website and jump into another niche and start creating content about a totally different topic, what this meant is that all the progress I had made with the first website, would have all gone down the drain and I would have been starting over.

Although I was not gonna delete the site completely, I was just gonna stop working on it but  when you stop working on a website, you do loose ranking because the search engines can see that you are not putting out new content so they do sort of bury your site and give chance to sites that are serious with content creation.

To be honest, what I was thinking of doing was not very wise because I was really gonna set myself up to fail And also that meant I would have had to stick with the new website for at least 6 months before I start seeing a steady flow of traffic.

So what if in a couple of months later I quit the new website as well? Do you see what I am getting at? it means I never get anywhere. So take time and choose a Niche that you are really passionate and excited to write about and stick with it, of course we have many things that we are passionate about, but just focus on one Niche and when that website is stable, then maybe you can start another website and write about another topic that you are also passionate about.

But do not abandon your first website, if you have more than one website, make sure that you have a steady flow of content on your websites.

Do take advantage of Social media

The best and free way to promote your online business is social media, But you need to know which social media will be better suited for your business, for example, if you are running a photography online business, I think Instagram and Pinterest would be your best social networks because these platforms are more image focus than lets say Facebook or Linked, I am not saying that if you have a photography website that you should not use Facebook to promote your business, I am saying that you should also focus on Instagram and Pinterest too.

 

YouTube is your friend, do create videos to promote your business

YouTube, is very good especially if your online business is on it’s beginning stage, it’s easier to rank on YouTube and attract traffic that you will direct to your website and hopefully make sales that way. I know that many people myself included are camera shy, but once you start then slowly you will get used to being on camera and your confidence will grow as you move forward.

The first video might not be the best but in time things will get better

Do keep in mind that you are in the business of helping people

Most people who have online business are here to help people, you share your content whether it’s a product review or a post to talk about tips that have helped you, you are doing all this and sharing because deep down you want to help people, you want to help people have the best information about a product, a place or a program, I mean if you are running a lets say a photography website, you want people to see beautiful images and you also want to help them get the right equipment so they too can take great images or create great videos.

So when you create content try to focus on the helping aspect rather than the sales, and you will see that when you supply people with the information they need, the sales will also flow, it’s as simple as that.

Do not be afraid of writing

I know that many people get afraid when they hear things like an article should not be less than 1,000 words, I have to say that I was very scared when I first started, But with time and practice, things do get easier, the best thing to do is start by researching for the article that you are planning to write, and just get on your computer and just start typing as fast as you can, don’t worry about mistakes just type.

When you feel like you have run out of things to say, then save your draft and take a break, remember, you need to give as much information as possible especially if you are doing a product review, so take your time and write until you feel you have given as much information as you could, if it’s a product that you use, then share some images of you using the product. Remember a product review should be ideally 1,500 words and up.

My conclusion

Online Business is a good way to earn a passive income, and the world of Affiliate Marketing is expanding and more people are taking advantage of this expansion by creating websites and promoting products and services and earning big commissions as a result. So I think if you are not afraid of working hard and dedicating long hours to this venture, then you can and you will succeed.
