Today we are going to answer this question, is Swagbucks a scam or what? Now, As I have mentioned in my previous posts about sites like Swagbucks, the affiliates who are promoting it, will not tell you the ugly side of Swagbucks because they want you to join so they can make their commission.
That is exactly what happened to me, I read a review of Swagbucks and joined because it was presented to me as a website where I can make easy money by performing small tasks online. In reality, Swagbucks is a website where you will have to spend lots of time and energy, and not even make $1 a day.
Let’s put it into perspective, so you are told that you can make money by either watching videos, taking surveys, or clicking ads right? Well, let’s see how much money you are going to make, shall we? Keep in mind that 100 Swagbucks translates into $1
Is Swagbucks A Scam Or What? First Lets Get To Know What Swagbucks Is
Swagbucks is a reward and loyalty company based in Califonia USA. it was founded in 2008 by two guys one is Scott Dudelson and Josef Gorowitz. The company is now owned by Prodege. They have a website where you can register for free and start performing different tasks which will earn you Swagbucks or points that you can redeem for gift cards or cash to your PayPal.
The problem with Swagbucks in my opinion, is that the websites they send you to are scammy, I mean Swagbucks itself might not be a scam but the sites you will be redirected to when you try to complete a task you will find are super spammy, and you have to enter your details to each website you are redirected to.
I had an occasion where I entered my details and once I had complete the form instead of starting the survey, the site just froze and I had to get out, yet somehow my information was saved to the site because I started getting lots of spammy emails from the site.
On another occasion, I watched a video, and just as the video was about to finish so my earning can be recorded, it just disappeared on me!
So Is Swagbucks A Scam Or What? Let’s Take A Look
As I said The affiliate Marketers who are promoting Swagbucks will tell you that you can make up to $200 per day doing easy tasks. But let’s see how much you get paid per task(that is if you will ever get paid) watching a video will pay you a whopping $0.05 same goes for playing games.
How about surveys? Well, the one and only survey I qualified for was supposed to pay $0.20 I spent over 20 minutes, and actually when I clicked to validate my earnings it hanged so I wasted 20 minutes for nothing. But that’s not the worst of it, the worst part is when you give so much information and answer so many questions, just to be told you don’t qualify for the survey.
Most Gurus Will Tell You To Join At Least 10 Reward Sites And Apps
If you read the articles or watch the YouTube videos that are promoting these sites, they will say in order for you to maximize your earnings, you have to join as many of these reward sites and apps as possible. The main ones being Swagbucks, Inboxdollar, SurveyJunkie, And YSense Which used to be known as Clixsense.
I have talked about Ysense too, I used to be a member there too(join as many as you can right?) The thing is, those people who are telling you to join at least 10 of these sites, its because they are affiliated with the sites, and the more people they refer to the sites the more commissions they generate.
Let me tell you the truth, even if you join 10 sites and complete tasks every day, even if you work 10 hours a day you will not be able to make $5.00 a day. trust me I tried, clicked ads, watched videos, played games, and tried to take surveys, and no I did not make $5 bucks.
But What About Those People Who Say You Can Make $200 Per Day On Swagbucks?
Well, as I have told you, do not believe what you see on those YouTube Thumbnails. If you don’t believe me, try it for yourself and see, I will just advise you not to use your main email address because you will be sorry. Just create a new email account and join you will see.
You might make money with these sites if you join as an affiliate and refer people. But if you join to complete tasks, you are not going to make money, but you will earn lots of spam mails, and if you are so unlucky those scammy sites they send you to, can cause you some serious damage. I feel there are many ways to make money online but surveys and watching videos on Swagbucks isn’t one of them, that’s my opinion based on my experience on these sites.
What About The Positive Reviews On Trustpilot?
I am going to attach screenshots of Negative reviews, and I am also going to attach screenshots of positive reviews, and I want you to be the judge. And before I do that I want you to know one thing about Trustpilot reviews, if you see a review that has invited or verified, written at the top, most of those reviews are Requested by the company.
For example, Swagbucks can use the invitation tool within Trustpilot to invite their affiliates to write reviews on Trustpilot. Now, what do you think the Affiliates would say? Keeping in mind that they are the same people telling you on YouTube and in their articles that you can make $200 per day on Swagbucks.
Also, notice which reviews are detailed.
Is Swagbucks A Scam Or What? The Verdict
Well, as I mentioned earlier, I won’t label Swagbucks a scam But The sites they redirect you to some of them are scam sites. There was one site that even wanted me to give my bank details. So it makes you wonder why would they need my bank details for me to be able to participate in a survey?
And remember, every single site you are redirected to you must provide information sometimes even your physical address, phone number, and of course email address. Of course, I skipped the ones that wanted my physical address. I want to save you time, frustrations, and energy, reward apps, and sites in my opinion are a waste of time.
Unless of course, you want to promote them, for me it’s better I watch a movie when I have free time or do something else instead of wasting my time and energy for nothing.
Swagbucks Do However Have To Fix Some Issues
There are some issues with payments and accounts being blocked as soon as they try to claim their earnings. If they really want to run a serious business where both parties benefit meaning the members who are completing the tasks and also the company itself, they must have great customer service.
They also must make sure that you are not taking surveys and not getting paid for your time and effort. As it is now the only people who are making money are the affiliate and the company itself while the small people do all the work.
I think if they produce a good experience for the members, it will also make the job easier for the affiliates who are promoting the site. For me, I am not very happy with the person who referred me to those sites. I hope he will find better products to promote, so people can benefit and make real money online. That way he can sleep well at night knowing that no one is cursing him out like I used to curse him out when I was completing tasks on those sites and not getting anything lol.
I get so angry when I think about the time and energy I wasted, I could have been doing other productive activities or building my own online business. But I am happy now because just as I read that review that sent me to those sites, I also read another review that took me to Wealthy Affiliate where I have been able to build my very own online business.
Conclusion
My message is simple, be very careful of someone who is telling you that you can make big and easy money on reward apps and sites. I do affiliate marketing and I will tell you, there is no easy money to be made online.
You must put in the work and there are no apps or websites that are giving people free money online, can you make money as you sleep? Yes, you can especially with affiliate marketing but it’s not that easy. First, you must put in the work, and then you will be able to see results.
As for reward apps and sites, you will put in lots of work and you will see almost zero results especially if you don’t live in the US or Canada.
Well, I would like to read your comments about this so please feel free to leave them below.
Thank you for your time.
