I know that the way to make money in Affiliate marketing is by promoting products and making sales, I mean you as an Affiliate Marketer, your job is to help a potential customer make a decision that will result in sale, but its not that easy, first of all you have to earn the trust of that potential customer.

But how do you do that? by giving valuable and helpful information, your reader needs to find information from your content that they will not find on the websites where they are buying the product from, for example, if someone wants to buy a juicer from Amazon, they really don’t want to read the same or similar information about the juicer on your review.

They want detailed information, they want to hear the good, the bad and if there is ugly, they want to hear that too, and if you deliver that, then the customer will reward you by clicking your link and make a purchase. But if you give a vague non-detailed review, they will still be thirsty for information and they will keep searching for more information on the juicer.

You need to exhaust every angle of the information you offer. Don’t hold back, when a person is interested in buying something, they want to read a lot about the product. I know when I want to buy something from Amazon, I can read a lot on the product, I actually visit few websites in different tabs and the one that gives me the most information about the product, that is the one I go back to and click the link.

Affiliate Marketing Requires Lots Of Patience

I know you have probably heard this already, I think I have also mentioned it a couple of times in my previous articles, but it needs to be said again because people need to understand that Affiliate Marketing is not a get-rich-quick kind of thing, and if you get into affiliate marketing with the mindset of getting rich quick, then you will be disappointed that is for sure.

When you build a brand new website, it can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months before you can start seeing results, and by results, I don’t necessarily just mean sales, I mean traffic engagement on your content and of course sales. Yes, there are people who have been lucky enough to start making sales after a couple of months.

But, you need to have basic knowledge of affiliate marketing, but if you are starting from zero, you will need time, first to learn how to do affiliate marketing correctly, and also how to set up your website for SEO.

Unrealistic Goals And Expectations Will Set You Up For Failure

One of the things I have noticed with new Affiliates is that they enter into affiliate Marketing with very high and unrealistic expectations. For example, I have seen Many Affiliates say I want to start an Affiliate business and I want to be making 15 thousand dollars a month.

Now that is a good thing to be ambitious is a great motivator, but let me ask you this, how much are you willing to invest in order to achieve your Goal of earning 15 thousand US dollars? OK let’s look at it from a different angle, let’s say you are working as a Nurse, how long did it take you to learn that profession? how much money have you spent on college, books, etc?

How much money are you making a month? you don’t need to answer me, just answer yourself and I hope you see where I am going with this. You can not expect to start an Affiliate Marketing business today, and expect 2 or 3 months from now you will be making tons of money, yes you can make some money, and you will continue to grow your business as you move forward but these things take time.

Even though its very easy to start an affiliate business, I mean you don’t really need much, you just need a website which is so easy to build, I mean you can build a website in less than a minute these days, then you get a domain for almost nothing, hosting is not expensive. in fact, it can take you less than an hour to set up your affiliate marketing website.

But you will need to invest lots of time, there is always something new to learn about Affiliate Marketing because there are always new updates and things are constantly changing, so you will always be working on your website, the biggest misconception about online business and Affiliate marketing, is that you just set up a website, and you start making money without doing much.

Like you just sit back and watch as dollars, or whatever currency you are working with, start piling up, and just going straight to your bank account. That is not how it works at all.

You Need To Know What You Are Doing

As much as I say that Affiliate Marketing requires Hard work and Patience, you also need to know what you are doing, I mean you could be working very hard but not seeing any results so my advice is this, before you launch your Affiliate Marketing website, you need to get some affiliate marketing training.

That way you will not be just diving into the business blindly, as I mentioned in one of my posts, I had created a website many years ago and I really didn’t know what I was doing, I was writing articles of 500 words, no headings and I definitely didn’t know the importance of keyword research.

Now, I could have continued working that way, and work very hard and produce truckloads of content, but I won’t have gotten anywhere, well if you have read that article then you know I didn’t even have a chance to find out what happens because my site was hijacked and I lost it, again because I didn’t know what I was doing.

So I say join A program that will hold your hand and guide you step by step and support you as you build your business.

Conclusion

The reason why we see so many people who are angry and claiming that Affiliate Marketing is a scam and there is no money to be made by a beginner is that these people are joining programs that are not teaching them all they need to know about Affiliate Marketing.

They end up spending so much money because most of those programs out there have crazy upsells, and you spend so much money until you can’t spend anymore, then you have to leave the program half-way without learning all you need to learn. My number one recommendation that I have mentioned above, is a program that will not let go of your hand even after you have established your business.

They will continue to guide you and help you scale your business to the level you want it to reach. As I mentioned, I did not know much about affiliate Marketing before joining this program, and what I thought I knew turned out to be not helpful to my online business.
